What I have learnt from being a business owner
I have been working for myself for close to 2 years now and I have experienced more lessons than I probably would of liked! However, all lessons serve a purpose (even if they don't feel like they do!) and below are my top four.
1. People will disappoint you
Friends, suppliers, clients, staff. People who you thought were part of your forever tribe, may fall short of being just that. And it hurts and sucks balls. Big ones. But you grieve, grow and move forward. And hopefully you get to a point where you look back and give thanks for the time they were in your life and wish them well. People come and go from your life for a reason. I truly believe that.
2. Trust your intuition
I used to suck at listening to my intuition. I ignored her and assumed she knew nothing. Well, turnsssss out she's a pretty smart lady. When it comes to taking on clients, how to respond to various situations etc make sure you really take a minute to pause and listen to your inner self.
3. Don't be afraid to say no
As women we are pleasers. So to say no in business is something I still at times struggle with. But you know what? If it doesn't make me feel excited, bursting with energy and full, why on earth would I want to take it on?
4. Know the universe has your back
Working for yourself bears all sorts of stresses. The main one for me previously was financial. Controlling my anxiety around cashflow was one of my biggest challenges. I really had to learn to trust in myself and the process. The universe hasn't let me down yet!
Stay tuned for more lessons as I enter the terrible twos!
Wishing you an awesome day filled with joy.
